Late on Monday (May 7th), Apple filed a litigation which dropped their patent claims against Samsung to nearly a half, five hours later, Samsung issued a statement saying that they would be dropping five out of their twelve patent claims against the Cupertino company.
Samsung argues that despite having dropped nearly half of its claims, Apple's case is still to big and would like the company to drop more of its claims. Apple responded saying that Samsung recent achievement (becoming world's top mobile vendor) was reached by copying and infringing Apple's technology.
Although they did agree on drop several of their patent claims, things are still tense between Apple and Samsung. On Monday still, the Cupertino company accused Samsung of being uncooperative with Court procedures stating that they will continue the other lawsuits seeking billions in damages.
