Georgia-based Case-mate has unveiled on Thursday (May 10th) its iPhone cases made out of recycled PET bottles. The cases are 100% made out of the plastic in used soda and water bottles. One recycled bottle equals to one case, says Case-mate.
Shashi Reddy, CEO of Case-mate, said that the company is looking forward to have an impact with eco-friendly iPhone cases encouraging sustainable practices from people in general: "As part of our greater effort to encourage more sustainable practices, we’ve introduced a line of fashionable, functional and environmentally responsible cases," he said.
The iPhone 100% recycled PET bottles case cost $30 and is available in a total of six colors: blue, pink, orange, green, black and white. It doesn't really offer anything special, as it does what most iPhone cases do, but it's a good choice for the eco-friendly iPhone owner.
