Google finally takes the Chromebook out of the digital retail and for the first time Chrome OS-based laptops are being sold at brick-and-mortar stores. The deal Google has sealed with Best Buy is set to give Chromebook the retail push it needs.
The company announced today that a total of 100 Best Buy stores in the United States will start selling the Chromebook laptop in the next days. By the Holiday shopping season, Google says that more Chromebook laptops from manufacturers other than Samsung and Acer will be available at Best Buy stores.
"Selling the Chromebooks in Best Buy is meaningful because it allows potential users to get their hands on them before buying. Chromebooks could certainly use a boost. Sales have been disappointing, to say the least," said Dan Olds, an analyst at Gabriel Consulting Group to Computer World.
