The updated version of Google Wallet now supports all major credit and debit cards from MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover. According to a post on the Google Commerce blog, the cloud-based version of Wallet will support all major credit and debit cards from now.
Google Wallet is an NFC based mobile payment method that supports both online and in-store payments. In-store payments are done using NFC and only a few phones supports NFC payment at the moment including Google’s own Nexus 7 tablet.
All credit card numbers are stored on Google’s secure servers and there is no important data saved on the phone itself. "This new approach speeds up the integration process for banks so they can add their cards to the Wallet app in just a few weeks," the company said. The free Google Wallet app for Android can be downloaded from the Google Play store. People interested to learn more about the mobile payment method can check out the video.
