ABC announced two days ago that it would begin showing live streaming content on its iOS app. Not to be outdone, rival TV giant Time Warner has followed hot on the heels of ABC by announcing its own live streaming plans, although they do differ slightly from ABC’s.
Steve Koonin, head of Turner Entertainment Networks confirmed the changes today and said that the live streaming will be available for the TNT and TBS networks. However, unlike ABC’s iOS app only approach, Time Warner says the live content will be available across a number of platforms.
Of course, unlike the free to watch ABC (with an internet connection), the Time Warner content on TNT and TBS will require a cable subscription to be viewed. The company said the live streaming will be heading our way this summer.
