
It seems that Microsoft has the hardware bug, and the Surface tablet and Surface Pro will be joined by more products in the future carrying the Surface branding. While the Surface tablet has been met with a lukewarm response, the Pro is getting good reviews, so perhaps Microsoft is learning from its mistakes.
The Surface Pro is already sold out according to reports, and we have already heard reports that an Xbox Surface is in the works. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has made it clear that the company’s’ future lies more in hardware than in software.
Could we be seeing a Surface laptop, or a Microsoft branded Windows Phone in the future? We think the latter is a possibility, but for the time being the company is leaving the laptops to more established manufacturers: “Our partners are doing a very good job with laptops right now," Mike Angiulo, Microsoft's Corporate Vice President for Windows Planning told ABC News.
