Despite the fact its high-end Windows 8 running Lumia 920 has done quite well in terms of sales, Nokia is positioning itself to concentrate more on the low end smartphone market. The Finnish company is ready to introduce a team of low budget smartphones in an aim to carve out a market niche.
The Lumia 920 flagship is a fine device, but with a host of new high-end smartphones finding their way to market from HTC, Sony, LG, Samsung and more, Nokia may just have that feeling it cannot compete at the high-end. The company will continue pushing out top bracket devices, but it is also going to attempt to corner the low budget smartphone market.
The company is already the king of the feature phone market, and the struggling brand hopes to revive itself from its financial woes by targeting another low-end niche. According to Reuters, Nokia will reveal a host of budget device at the Mobile World Conference next week.
