After promising to issue DLC to solve problems that many users had with the ending to Mass Effect 3, BioWare has released further details about what exactly they plan to do. Today they announced that they will be releasing the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC.
The DLC is intended to expand upon the ending to Mass Effect 3, not to alter it. It should give players a more fulfilling feeling after finishing the game and wrap everything up into a neat package. BioWare made clear that this DLC would not alter the events of the story in any way though.
This content will be available for free when it is released on Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3. The content will be made available some time this summer. Casey Hudson of BioWare believes that the DLC will strike "a good balance in delivering the answers players are looking for while maintaining the team’s artistic vision for the end of this story arc in the Mass Effect universe.”
