Rovio, the company responsible for bringing us the myriad of games in the Angry Birds franchise has just announced their next project. The Finnish game developer's next title is a game called Amazing Alex that will be released within the next two months.
The game is based on the physics-based, contraption building Casey's Contraptions intellectual property that Rovio acquired recently. The game centers on the titular character Alex who enjoys building machines. A trailer for Casey's Contraptions which demonstrates similar functionality.
Mikael Hed shared the news during an interview with Finnish television news station Yle. during the interview, it was clear that Hed was aware of the expectations they have to live up to. Hed said, "The quality pressure is high. We want to maintain the high standard Angry Birds fans have come to enjoy."
Rovio has managed to ride the wave of success from their incredibly popular Angry Birds franchise for quite some time. The series just recently surpassed one billion downloads across its various incarnations. Many had been worrying as to whether or not the company would begin to stagnate and this announcement has alleviated some of those concerns.
