Steam's web interface and mobile apps have made it even easier to purchase games from the online retailer. Unfortunately, users still have the hurdle of waiting for games to download and install before they can play them. A recent Steam update has given users a way around this.
A new feature introduced in the update is remote downloads. This allows users to initiate downloads via Steam's website or mobile apps and remotely initiate a download on the computer they wish to play the games on.This will allow users to start the download when away from the computer and have them ready to play when they arrive at home.
Users can also remotely initiate a reinstall of games they have previously purchased. The Steam client will also attempt to detect if the user is away from their home computer. If it detects that you shopping from somewhere besides your standard location, the client will automatically prompt the user to remotely install the game at home.
