Amazon.com Inc. is all set to go deeper into the mobile games market with the launch of Amazon Game Studios. The company launched its own game studio yesterday with its first social game for Facebook, Living Classics. The announcement was posted on its website and also came via an email.

The company is already a part of the mobile game market with the Amazon App Store for Android. "Amazon Game Studios is exactly what it sounds like: a new team at Amazon that’s focused on creating innovative, fun and well-crafted games," that’s what the company said on their games page.
In the announcement post, the company said, “Why is Amazon making social games, you ask? Good question! We know that many Amazon customers enjoy playing games – including free-to-play social games – and thanks to Amazon’s know-how, we believe we can deliver a great, accessible gaming experience that gamers and our customers can play any time.”
This step can be risky for Amazon as the game developers won’t see the company as a neutral party. This new move has been long predicted as we saw some job openings for game developers earlier. Amazon’s first social game, “Living Classics,” is a free-to-play game where players have to spot hard-to-find objects scattered on the worlds of Alice in Wonderland, King Arthur and The Wizard of Oz.
