Microsoft is working on a next-generation console, Xbox 720 is more than just a rumor after all the leaked dev models and business plans we saw recently that pointed out the existence of Xbox 720. There was no rumor or leak about Microsoft’s proprietary hands-free gaming accessory, Kinect 2 until now.
A Twitter user recently posted a sample image from Kinect 2 and claimed that the Kinect 2 device was running on a Durango (Xbox 720’s codename) development kit. The leaked image shows two players interacting with Kinect and reveals HD motion capture skills and there are some increased amount of movement data and depth noticed in the screenshot.
According to The Verge, the leaked image is real and one of its own sources confirmed it. “One person familiar with Microsoft’s Durango work” told them that Microsoft is currently working with Durango Xbox Development Kit and the user interface shown in the picture matches with the real one. Microsoft gave a hint recently about launching the new Xbox in the next 18 months so we can expect to see a new Xbox and Kinect soon.
