Now that Borderlands 2 is on its way it’s about time to make sure you’ve completed the first game fully so that you know the story and can continue from where it leaves off. If you’ve not managed to do this yet because it became too hard for you and you are on the PC you may be lucky with this little cheat known as the God Mode.
Gamers of course will know the God Mode well; it helps you to play the game by making it impossible for you to die. With Borderlands it can be quite a challenge to complete at times, especially to get past the numerous crazy bosses that are out there always read to try blow your head off. Personally as somebody who has completed it many times, on all characters I would never use the code…ok, I lie I’m going to play it with the God Mode on just so I perfect my sniping and get ready for when the next game is finally released.
Activating God Mode
The first thing to do is to find the ini file that holds the god mode setting. PC owners will know that the ini files are where settings for the programs are hidden and work behind the game to make sure it’s working ok. The file you need should be in “My Documents\My Games\Borderlands\WillowGame\Config\” and will be called WillowGame.ini. Open this file by double clicking on it (notepad should open) and then search for bDemiGodMode” and change this from false to true.

Once this is set to true then go into your game and start playing. You’ll notice now that whenever you get to 1hp it will freeze there and you’ll never die, until you gain energy of course then it will raise back up. This means that you can now fight your enemies without the worry of them killing you. So go get killing and complete the story.

Be aware though that cheats like this often disable the achievements so you may find that no matter what you do Steam no longer give you achievements based on the saved games you’ve cheated on. Borderlands is a game that gets easier the more you put into it, without cheating and personally I feel you should complete it first before using codes like this. If you can’t wait for the new game though and you’ve still not completed it, go ahead and cheat a little just don’t let it ruin your fun.
