
OUYA, the Android powered game console is now up for pre-order outside Kickstarter. The console was announced only a few months ago and was planned for retail in April 2013. If you didn’t donate some money on its Kickstarter project, you can now pre-order the console here for $109 and $119 for people outside the US.
The console was available for users with a $99 price tag for people who drop some money on their campaign but now the campaign is closed. The console is built using open-source software technology and the device runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The device is also packed with Quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU, 8GB internal flash memory and 1GB of RAM.
The gaming console supports 1080p HDMI Display and comes with NVIDIA ULP GeForce GPU graphics card for supporting visuals. The device itself supports 4 controllers and will come with a 3in touchpad wireless controller with two analog sticks, eight buttons and a d-pad.
The OUYA will be entering in the game console market with an introductory price of only $99 to compete with Sony’s PS3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Namco Bandai are currently discussing with OUYA to bring games to the Android-based gaming console. All the pre-ordered device will start shipping in April 2013.
