When creating your Wordpress site you can often add add ons which can give Facebook functionality to your site, show Twitter, the possibilities are only limited to what Wordpress Widget developers have thought up. There are times though when you want to add something that has not been created yet, this is where the text Widget can be used.
The text widget allows you to add any text, or even any HTML to your site easily and without any issues. This is the way most advertising is added to your site for example like Google Ads. Some themes may offer default places for the ads to go but sometimes you want the power to place them where you want.
Using the Wordpress Text Widget
To add a text Widget it’s as simple as opening the Widget admin page in the Wordpress CMS and dragging a Text Widget onto the sidebar you want it to appear. Then you add the code/text that you want to appear in the widget and Wordpress will do the rest.
The example shown is used to add Google Ads to a Wordpress site. This shows that all it takes is to drag the widget as said, add in the script that Google will provide you and then the ad will show without an issue. This can be done with any image, widget or script where HTML will be placed dynamically into the page.
The whole aim of CMS systems such as Wordpress is to make creating a website or a simple blog as easy as it can possibly be. Without much programming knowledge it’s fairly simply to create a visually attractive site and if you have the knowledge it can be made even more advanced. This is one reason why tools like Wordpress and Blogger are becoming so popular now.
