Philips is starting a new range of headphones under the Fidelio premium audio brand and the Fidelio L1 is one of the first models to be released. Entering a market that is quite busy at the moment they will be going against products such as Beats by Dre Pro Beats and the TDK ST-700 ranges which offer quality sound and excellent comfort.
If Philips want to make these the best headphones and most wanted they will have to produce something special, especially with such an expensive range of other choices. With a stylish look and Philips know how when it comes to sound these may be the headphones to rise about the rest and be the best.
With a definite retro look these headphones get the style right straight away but still manage to look sturdy and high quality. With the flexibility to be adjusted to fit your head it’s easy to get them comfortable and enjoying your music in no time.
The headphones are wired so no need to worry about batter weight and quality issues when it comes to Wi-Fi reception. With a fabric weave around the wire itself it’s also a nice touch as it fits the whole look of the headphones themselves and gives more flexibility than the plastic wiring would.
One thing noticeable is the flexibility of the headphones themselves. They fit any head no matter how big and manage to be comfortable, this will of course be important for prolonged use. Using memory phone cushioning the headphones also provide as much comfort as possible for your ears that, with the ear cups sitting around your ears instead of on them.
The sound quality is where these headphones truly excel. With strong bass response and placing of the drivers to line up with the ears perfectly the sound really is excellent, but they may not be up to the quality of the Beats products. Don’t expect much noise cancelling on these headphones though but the ear cups themselves do manage to block out most noises around you.
The most important aspect of headphones of course is the sound quality and although these are not the best headphones on the market they are high quality and for most will give excellent performance. If you are looking for a stylish retro look that promises high quality sound then these are probably headphones that you may consider, just don’t expect the best product available.
